Their characteristics include light leaks, irregular lens alignment, color shifts, and increased contrast. The terms, “Lomography”, “Lomograph”, and “Lomo” are often used to refer to these photos and are named after the cheap Soviet-era cameras produced by the Leningradskoye Optiko-Mekhanicheskoye Obyedinenie.
